Voluntary Sector Organisations – Research Opportunities
Boughton Malherbe Parish Council
Opportunity for Voluntary Sector Colleagues
We are offering an opportunity for individuals in West Kent to train as Community Research Advocates (CRA), who will play an important role in their communities to ensure seldom-heard voices are included in important health and social care research. As a member of your community you will share opportunities to get involved in research or clinical trials and help others understand why their voice is important. You will complete a training session before joining the Kent-wide Community Research Engagement Network, with opportunities to work with academics and researchers and attend meetings and events.
CRAs can commit as much or as little time as they wish to tasks that support the CREN. These might include:
- Reading and commenting on abstracts or reviewing papers
- Participating in focus groups
- Joining teleconferences to feedback on papers
- Attending committees or panel meetings
This list is not exhaustive and all expenses for participation will be covered.
This free training is suitable for members of the public and for those working in the VCS. The role is ideal for someone who works closely with different groups or communities and would like to represent these voices in policy, research and academia, for example charity leaders, forum chairs, faith leaders, community group leaders or others.
Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.
